Dierks Bentley was awarded the very first star on Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt University's new Walk of Champions on Thursday (March 15th) in Nashville. The singer has been a longtime supporter of the facility, raising $4 million through his annual Miles & Music for Kids event throughout its 10-year run.

Dierks accepted the award saying, “I am personally so honored to have this star. I feel like everyone that knows the situation knows I'm not the star, it's really the doctors and the technicians, the administrators, the nurses. You guys are the stars, you are the ones that make this place what it is, the shining star on the hill. I am very honored to have this.”

Dierks is making his way up the charts with “Woman, Amen,” the debut single from his upcoming album, The Mountain, which will be released sometime this year.
