Kane Brown was surprised by the RIAA, Sony Music Nashville and WME executives and staff and industry guests yesterday (Monday, July 17th) in Nashville in celebration of the gold certification of his current Top 20 single, "What Ifs," featuring Lauren Alaina. “What Ifs” marks Kane's second RIAA gold-certified single and his first Top 20 hit. His debut single, “Used to Love You Sober,” was certified gold earlier this year.

Kane was lured to the party under the guise that it was a ceremony honoring his book agent. He tells us: ["It's just exciting to me, first off, because I didn't know anything about it which made it a huge surprise and I feel like it made it better in some way, and second, just because I feel like my fans . . . my fans are there. They're my backbone. It just shows everybody that they're always gonna support me."] SOUNDCUE (:17 OC: . . . gonna support me.)

Kane's self-titled album remains the genre’s best-selling new artist debut of the past two and half years.
