Old Dominion is among the performers on next week's CMA Country Christmas special, airing on ABC. The band took on the Beach Boys' "Little Saint Nick," but as lead singer Matthew Ramsey tells us, they in no way tried to copy the legendary act. ["Taking on a Beach Boys song is not an easy thing to do because nobody can do what the Beach Boys do so . . . but it's a cool song and being a band it's fun for us to kind of be able to dig in and find our own voice in a song like that, or voices, really. I don't know, we just kind of went into the studio and kind of hashed it out for a day to figure out how we were gonna play it so I think it came out pretty cool. I think it's gonna be really good. It harkens the Beach Boys but it doesn't sound like we're trying to copy them, thankfully, because that would be a mistake (laughs)."] SOUNDCUE (:35 OC: . . . be a mistake (laughs).)

CMA Country Christmas also features performances by Martina McBride, Dan + Shay, Brett Eldredge, Brad Paisley, Dustin Lynch, Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, Tony Bennett, and Diana Krall. The show airs on Monday (December 10th) at 8 p.m. ET.
